Rose Quartz

There are many legends about Rose Quartz crystal and how it came into existence. According to one, Cupid, the Roman god of desire and affection, was said to have bestowed Rose Quartz crystal stone upon the Earth as a gift of love, passion, and happiness for all. Another Greek legend tells a more tragic tale. According to this myth, Ares, the Greek god of war, came in the form of a boar to kill Aphrodite’s lover, Adonis. In trying to save Adonis, Aphrodite cut herself on a briar bush. As their blood spilled, it came together over a Quartz crystal, staining the stone pink. Rose Quartz was also prized by Egyptians, who made facial masks out of the stone and placed it in tombs. The Assyrians were one of the first groups to use Rose Quartz, crafting jewellery from it.

Rose Quartz is found in Madagascar, Brazil, India, the United States, and many other places.

Rose Quartz is the stone of unconditional love. It also carries a peaceful resonance that many people find soothing in times of emotional upset. The energy of Rose Quartz vibrates in alignment with the energies of the Heart chakra and encourages feelings and expressions of warmth, happiness, compassion, understanding, respect, and emotional health. Rose Quartz can also encourage self love and self worth.
